I really like his first book and I was very excited about this one. However, I am not impressed. There are a LOT of salads in there. Also, a lot of them rely on pork products to give them flavor. I have an allergy to pork and have found that lately there's more and more use of pork products in too many recipes. Yes, I have the option to leave it out, but after you remove that product the recipe left is a simple salad with not a lot of imagination. There are only a handful of recipes that I can do because of that problem. Yes, most recipes are clean, but I really did not wanted another book on salads. I wanted main dishes, hearty healthy dishes and that is not what the book has.

I am surprised there are not more positive reviews! Inspired by the author’s story about how he improved his health via healthy eating, I eagerly anticipated the release of this cookbook. It does not disappoint. There are no gimmicks – and he even mentions that it took him over 6 months of focusing on healthy eating to notice positive effects. Overall the author encourages limiting sugar, carbs and processed convenience food. The emphasis is on simple, healthy REAL food – unlimited veggies and good fats, meat and dairy in moderation, sensible carbs and prebiotic/probiotic foods for gut health.I found the recipes to be very accessible and simple – yet flavorful. Yes, there are some ingredients that are hard to find if you don’t live in a big city but those ingredients are easily substituted (or available on Amazon). I have made several recipes and all have been stellar - (sliced peaches with feta/pistachios/honey; brussels sprouts/dried cherry salad; harissa roasted spaghetti squash; broccoli w gochujang; roasted sweet potatoes; harissa scallion lamb patties). I have almost all of the salads bookmarked as well as many of the meat dishes. I can’t wait to cook my way through this book!

Beautiful photos of foods I inspire to cook and eat. Many ingredients aren't readily available, which makes following this regimine difficult and cost prohibitive for the average family. I did find a few things that are manageable. Full disclosure: I checked this out from the library with the intention to buy if most recipes were reasonable. Just not my cup of green tea.

Recipes too complicated.Many of the ingredients not available for the average homemaker.

The recipes I've tried from here have been healthy and delicious, and have helped me with my own autoimmune issues. An inspiring story.

So much fun! Gorgeous photos (could be a coffee table book!) The recipes are easy and there are even instructions for beginning cooks.Lovely book. I know I'll get a lot of use and inspiration from it.

My new favorite cookbook. Try the eggs with chia seeds -- never would have thought of that. I have similar health issues plus celiac disease, so it was nice to find a book with lots of tasty GF options. (And bacon!)
