I felt all the info at the beginning of the book was not necessary but anyone who can think of 4 different ways to use one cookie cutter is a genius. I'm having a hard time thinking of different ways of using mine. I'm sorry I don't have the same cutters Patti Paige does so that I can just steal her ideas instead of trying to come up with my own. She has definitely given me the inspiration to push my imagination further than I thought it could ever go.
The author is an incredible talented cookie artist. This book has lots of basic information for beginners.On the other hand I was disappointed on how she describes the process of making the cookies, for example: bake, colour icing, outline and so on... I would have loved to see photos of the decorating process and more information on the process of designing cookies.
Disappointed. This book was published 2014...and there is more text than photos. I am new to cookies and really thought this would be a great start.Thank goodness I found "Biscuiteers Book of Iced Cookies" by Harriet Hastings & Sarah Moore...every page has photos...so informative. This book was published in 2010...and it's worth ever penny!
These kind of suck to be frank. I would rarely find the occasion to use any of these designs. A chair cookie??? Seriously? Swiss cheese or egg on toast from a square cookie cutter? Wow! Brilliant. I was going to ship it back, and they were going to charge me $5.99 to ship it back. That’s almost half the price of the book! So now I’m stuck with this paper weight.
Where are the pictures of decorating steps? Templates would had helped if the author didn't want to include pictures. I'm disappointed!
I am a beginner and I started with another book. I watched the video for this book and her cookie cutter making video. The designs in this book are so cute, simple, and creative.
Best Buy Eva.. I am so glad I invested in this book. This book was thicker than I expected (its a good thing trust me). It was filled with all sorts of information for any cookie decorating beginners as well as cookie decorating experts. This books also teaches us that we do not need every single cookie cutter out there and that a single cookie cutter could be decorated for many things. I recommend this book to anyone who loves cookie decorating.
Five stars for really cool stuff. This book may be beyond the skills of most of us, but the creativity is enchanting and it would be a great coffee table book, if anyone does that anymore.
